The Circle for Teenage Mothers

The Circle is a safe space for teenage mothers. Teens meet in a circle and are given the opportunity to share/ talk about issues that might be a source of their stress, trauma and other mental health challenges and issues that are holding them back  thus hindering them from progressing.

This is safe, confidential and allows healing through sharing ones stories openly whilst self-Havening, trauma tapping and praying.

Rationales for the circles

  • To give the teenage mothers an opportunity to easily speak out some of the most challenging issues in their lives that could be holding them back

  • To create a sense of togetherness and build trust among the group

  • To help the teens heal from their trauma and stress factors

  • To help the teenage mothers learn how to relieve themselves from stress, trauma and other mental health challenges by use of self-havening and trauma tapping techniques

  • To create a safe, loving and caring space for the teenage mothers

  • To build their confidence and boost their self-esteem

How The Circle works each time we meet

  • Open remarks by the moderator of the circle

  • Setting of rules and regulations of the circle

  • Sharing the highs, these are testimonies or issues that are worth celebrating

  • Self-havening and trauma tapping to help them relax and heal

  • Sharing the lows, these are negative experiences that they need to heal from

  • Self-havening and trauma tapping to help them relax and heal

  • Sharing insightful remarks and short prayer by the moderator

  • Share snacks and closure

Rules and regulations for the circle

  • Confidentiality i.e. Whatever is shared in the circle remains in the circle and not shared anywhere else

  • There is unconditional respect for each other in the circle
