Who we are

About us

The Peaceful Heart Network is a non-profit offering practical First Aid tools to resolve psychological trauma that anybody can learn. We are guided by the conviction that social and political stability depends on resolving trauma within as many people as possible in an affected community. Peaceful Heart Network was founded by  Gunilla Hamne and Ulf Sandström in 2010.

We have developed the Tapping and Trauma Technique (TTT), a simplified Tapping modality without language or content. We offer training, mentoring, materials, support to start local projects and certification. It is estimated that TTT has reached more than 250,000 people in over 40 countries.

We are involved humanitarian projects in for example Rwanda, DR Congo, South Sudan and other parts of Africa, as well as in India, Europe the United States and Canada. We received the ACEP Humanitarian Award in 2017 for this work.

The efforts of the Peaceful Heart Network, the documentation of the results obtained, the continued cooperation of organizations, researchers, psychologists, physicians and others can be found here, as well as the book Trauma Tapping Technique - A Tool for PTSD, Stress Relief, and Emotional Trauma Recovery.

Founders

Gunilla Hamne

Trauma Consultant, Author of Trauma Tapping Technique, Founder of Peaceful Heart Network

In 2006, after having finished my training in the Tapping method called Thought Field Therapy (TFT), I contacted Professor of Psychology and Trauma Expert Dr. Carl Johnson. We traveled to Rwanda and Burundi to work with orphan survivors of the genocide. The Trauma Tapping Technique (TTT) derives from those experiences.

Inspired by the results, I founded Peaceful Heart Network together with Ulf Sandström and colleagues in Rwanda. Our main aim is to empower survivors of war and other atrocities by sharing TTT, to heal the memories of the past.

Ulf Sandström

Trauma Consultant, Author of Trauma Tapping Technique, Founder of Peaceful Heart Network

Together with Gunilla Hamne, I have hands on experience working with emotional and post-traumatic stress with survivors of the genocide in Rwanda and acts of war in DR Congo. Together we train and teach TTT to large groups in different cultural settings also using dance and music. I also work with lectures, coaching and sports using mental training and hypnosis.

I have been witnessing amazing results in healing symptoms of trauma since 2010. I believe it is time for the world to embrace these simple methods to avoid suffering and prevent violence.
